Hi
On my Aura HD, when I touch the screen so as to advance on page, is sometimes goes back one or two pages.
Happens on epub format.
Do you guys have encountered the same issue?

Hello,
I searched for this specific info both on this forum and on the web, but to no avail.
Is it possible to access the epub library on a Kobo ereader via the folders structure, and not via the collections mechanism? The point is to use the official reading app, not KOReader or something else.
Otherwise, is it possible to create (hierarchical) collections from the folders structure?
I am thinking at buying a Kobo Aura ONE and an really interested in this.

I am interested in being able to sort an authors works by publication date. I use Calibre and the KoboUtilities plug-in. Do we know what field in the SQLite database is used for this sort? It should be possible to populate that field with the Calibre Published field.

Been looking for an alternative to the expensive kobo sleepcover.
So far I've seen the following 3rd party covers:
- kwmobile: has a metal clasp on the edge of the cover, come in leather look and canvas
- another one seems to have a thick black plastic border around the back cover
Any others? Please share your experiences with 3rd party covers for the H2O v2.

Hi to one and all!
After recharging and restarting my Kobo Glo HD, it has gone into a kind of boot loop.
It starts up and then freezes, then after a minute or so it starts up again and freezes. I have tried a soft reboot with a paper-clip in the little hole at the bottom but this simply sets off the loop again. I have managed to turn the Kobo off but the loop starts again as soon as I turn it on again. I can't see any way to stop this loop so I can intervene on the Kobo in the hope of repairing the problem.
I cannot connect to my computer as the Kobo freezes before the connect command can be executed.
I have searched this forum and the internet and I read that there was, a couple of years ago, an issue called "sickel" which seems to ressemble my problem, but I can't find a way of solving this.
I am wondering if the source of this problem may not be an epub which I obtained by converting a Pdf document. My epub may be corrupt in some way.
I would much appreciate any help, including pointers to solutions which have already been found but which I cannot trace on this forum.

Hi to all,
As I explained in another post, I converted a Pdf document into an Epub using Calibre and this created a "corrupt" file that apparently set up a boot loop on my Kobo, something like the Sickel issues of some years ago.
I would welcome any pointers to help me "clean up" this epub file. I know nothing about this type of format so any help with using Calibre for this would be helpful.

Hi, I am unable to find the MAC address of my Kobo Aura H2O (1st gen) under device information.
The part after MAC address appears to be completely blank, whereas all the other boxes have content.

Is there someone who has managed to get Debian or Android working on H20 Aura? As some of the android apps would be really nice to have on the device.
I found some old links how to get Debian working on Kobo Aura HD but I take it that it will not work on H20 Aura.

I have a Kobo H20 Aura with a 32 GB SD card. For me sideloading books has worked fine with transferring books to the SD-Card. But it becomes a issue when I download books from kobostore it goes into internal storage?
As these books have DRM is it just possible to move them to external manually or how do I make it download new books I purchase straight to SD-Card or is that not possible?

Kobo Aura 1
Occasionally I'll get a book where every so often (probably near the end of a chapter) a chapter suddenly ends without even finishing a sentence. And the next page has the beginning of the next chapter.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Maybe this problem will have a basic solution, but I'm still not getting my Kobo to work.
I bought my Kobo Aura (KA1) about 1 month ago (used / refurbished) and it always worked very well until a few days ago.
Two days ago, I was reading an epub, and the screen completely frezzes.
I made a Soft Reset first, and then a Factory Reset, and after a few tries it turned on, but after setting up Wi-fi, the screen with 5 points to "Restoring ..." will always appear in loop.
When I sometimes connect to the "Select language" menu, I can connect Kobo to the computer, and then test some firmware available online.
After disconnecting Kobo from the computer, it does "Update" and then enters the "Restoring ..." loop again.
I already installed the last firmware, but the problem always persisted.
Surely this situation has already happened to someone. Can you give me any tips?

GoodEreader reports, "Kobo insiders have disclosed to Good e-Reader that there is serious internal chatter about developing a second generation Mini."
A H2O Edition 2 with a 5 inch screen sounds pretty perfect to me.
I love my H2O 1, and I know people also prefer the large screen size of the Aura One. Still, I miss being able to easily slip an ereader into a pocket. I still use my Sony PRS350, perfectly pocket-sized! but it lacks screen lighting among other things.

I tried Kobo h2o and aura one and in both cases I found it extremely challenging to touch the right spot on the small note reference number to be able to read a note (or even to highlight exactly the right portion of text I try to highlight - but the problem is more important for notes reference number, sometimes it needs several tries).
I now experiment with a kindle and I'm impressed it's so simple: it just works. For essays it makes this ereader way more comfortable than any kobo I tried. Which is a shame as Kobos are more 'open'...
My question is: are all Kobo models similarly poorly sensitive on the touch layer / is it hard to "click" on the small number to read a note of each of those, or are some models really good / as comfortable for that as the paperwhite is?

I really like the Comfort light feature on my Aura One, but I do have one tiny nit to pick about using it in "Auto" mode. The "day" setting is too blue and the "night" setting is too orange. I was wonder if there was a way to create a patch the would restrict both ends of the color spectrum so that I could leave the "Natural Light" setting on auto, but not have the current extremes. For me, I would restrict the setting from 25% to 75% (the middle of the slider being 50%).
I know such a patch would only apply to the Aura One and new Aura H20 6.8", but if anyone who knows how to develop these patches has one of those devices, I think this would be a useful patch.

I am not sure how the power botton of my Glo HD works!
If the device is powered off and I want to turn it on I don't know how long I have to keep it pressed. Sure a short press and release doesn't work.
If I pay attention and look at the led light behind the botton, I see that most of the times as soon as the led is on the device is going to start up.
What is strange is that the amount of time I must keep the botton pressed does vary. Sometimes even if I can see the led on for a moment the device does not complete the start up and remains powered off. Sometimes I keep it pressed more then 10 seconds and nothing happens, I have to release and press again to start up the device.

I have the KA1 for myself and love it. I would like my 7 year old to have an e-reader for himself as he is starting to consume more and more books. He is not an advanced reader so he still enjoys pictures books and books like Dog Man (comic style). I do NOT want him to have a tablet with apps. We have those. I want a black and white e-reader (e-ink not back lit) that encourages reading only (no fancy options) but that will display pictures and comics nicely without having to zoom. Any suggestions? I would prefer a kobo but open to other brands.

Dear Community,
Could someone get me up to speed with developing apps for Kobo (specifically Kobo Glo)? I bought one for cheaps, planning to just glue it to my wall and use it as a fancy calendar or something like that.
Tiny setback is that I bricked the touchscreen while setting it up, but that's cool because I wasn't planning on using it anyways.
I've poked around a little bit and found that it uses Qt, specifically Qt 5.2. Is there a tutorial on how to get set up with Qt for arm (embedded)? Just like a hello world kind of situation that I can tinker with?
Also, how much of the default system can I delete? I mean I have a backup of anything, but is there a tutorial on how to just throw everything away (I don't need any of the default GUI stuff, I want it to boot right into my app).
For the wifi: I found some references to wpa_supplicant, am I right in assuming that it's using that to connect to wifi? If so, I think I can probably just hardcode my wifi into the config, and in case it changes I can manually edit it, right?

On Kobo H2O 2nd Edition, night mode, white letter on black background does not exist. Why ? it is nevertheless very practical.
Is the people from Kobo going to put it in a next update?
And how to activate it by special trick ?

I believe that with my Kindle, I can read a library book and, if I later buy the book, still have the highlights I put into the library copy. Kindle evidently saves these for possible later use if I buy.
My question is, does Kobo do the same? I read a lot of library books on my Aura One and recently read one that I've decided to buy. Will my highlights be preserved from the library book with Kobo?

I'm trying to make sure I can access any ebooks I buy on other devices than just kobo, so I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions to set an Adobe ID on my devices (for starters just my PC and my Kobo). Using Adobe I was able to open the test ebook on my pc and export it to my kobo, but after that I can't open the ebook from my synced library anymore. Even though I do have Adobe authorization on it. So is this a case of the DRM locking on a single device, making sure I will never be able to open this ebook through my library again? That seems a bit harsh. If so, does that mean any ebooks on my kobo are locked to that device, and will have to be exported in a special way to my pc? I did not seem to be able to drag books from my ereader to my pc, only the other way around. I'm a bit confused about the DRM restrictions and what I can and cannot do. I would like to be able to access the ebooks I legally own on the devices that can handle them, and to me it would seem that using a single Adobe ID on these devices should be sufficient authorization. So right now I'm hoping I have overlooked something ;).
