Weird problem, here. I have multiple Kobo readers, all set up the same way.
Okay, just noticed it is on my Aura, too. Both are running 3.8.0 with collection management handled by Calibre. All are side loaded kepubs. In a collection, there are hundreds of meta data entries for books that are not on the device. I went through 500 pages under the "books" heading, and none of them show up there. I then removed all of the books, via Calibre, from the collection. Now, for example, one collection, which is empty and so shouldn't even be on the device, has 60 metadata entries.
These were all on the device at one time. I add and remove books frequently, depending on my whim. I've never had this happen before. I checked my Glo and it is not doing it, although I haven't connected it to Calibre recently. I updated Calibre to the latest today, and no improvement. Still tons of ghost listings. And sometimes duplicates, if I have re-added the book at another time. The book is there, and so is a separate ghost metadata listing.
Metadata is set to automatic management.
Both of these devices had SD cards with books on them not long ago, but no longer do.
On my Aura HD,I've just hand deleted collections full of empty metadata listing, and reconnected to Calibre. Cycled with out adding/removing or doing anything, ejected. The collections with only metadata are gone! So that worked.
Any idea what could have caused these ghost entries?
