Touch Touch not processing new content

Hi,

I've been looking through other threads but can't seem to find an issue that matches mine exactly.

I plug in my Touch to my computer. I connect when asked. The screen then comes up saying Connected and Charged. I also open the folder to view the files contained on the reader.

for those books I have not purchased through Kobo, I drag and drop an epub file into the reader folder. I then eject the reader and unplug it from my computer.

Lately the reader is stuck on Connected and Charged. It does not begin processing the new content.

I am able to restart the reader...that is not the problem. The problem is that when I have to restart it, the new content does not appear. If I plug the reader into the computer and view the contents of the reader - there is the file on the reader. it was just never processed.

This is not a problem with one specific epub file. This is happening with all of my files. I tried to also use Adobe Digital Editions and same thing - it appears on the reader when plugged in and viewed, but the content does not get processed at all.

it's like the reader doesn't understand that it has been unplugged from the computer. I can restart the reader 10 times but it never processes the new content

Anyone with a similar issue? Anyone with suggestions?
